Apa Sih Bedanya Program studi Reguler, Paralel, Vokasi, Kelas Internasional dan Ekstensi Universitas Indonesia ?
SekolahNews – Siapa yang mau kuliah di Universitas Indonesia ? pasti hampir sebagian besar pelajar akan menjawab mau.
Ketahui dulu program-programnya karena ada beberapa jenis program di Universitas Indonesia :
1. S1 REGULER
- Merupakan salah satu program sarjana yang umumnya dimiliki oleh setiap universitas di Indonesia.
- Kelas program sarjana biasanya dilaksanakan dari mulai pagi sampai sore.
- Bahasa pengantar di kelasnya adalah bahasa indonesia.
- Program sarjana reguler memiliki lebih banyak daya tamping dibandingkan program lainnya.
- Jalur masuk untuk program reguler dapat melalui jalur SNMPTN (Undangan), SBMPTN, dan SIMAK UI.
- Yang membedakan S1 Reguler dengan program lainnya adalah mahasiswanya memiliki hak-hak lain seperti BOPB dan mulai tahun 2013, mahasiswa S1 Reguler bebas uang pangkal.
- Setiap program studi sarjana di UI memiliki program reguler. Lama waktu perkuliahannya 3,5 – 5 tahun.
- Gelar akademis untuk sarjana berbeda-beda tergantung fakultasnya. Contoh untuk Fasilkom gelarnya adalah S.Kom.

2. S1 PARALEL
- Program S1 Paralel hampir mirip dengan program S1 Reguler.
- Banyak kesamaan antar keduanya, seperti kelasnya yang sama (di beberapa fakultas)
- bahasa pengantarnya bahasa indonesia, pelaksanaan kelas sarjana paralel dimulai dari pagi sampai sore
- lama waktu perkuliahan 3,5 – 5 tahun
- gelar akademis.
Perbedaan program sarjana paralel daripada reguler adalah:
- tidak berhak atas BOPB
- ada uang pangkalnya.
- Program sarjana paralel biasanya memiliki cukup banyak daya tampung.
- Jalur masuk untuk program paralel dapat melalui jalur SIMAK UI dan PPKB.
- Tidak semua program studi memiliki program paralel. Hanya beberapa saja, seperti Teknik Mesin, Teknik Elektro, Arsitektur, Teknik Industri, MIPA, Hukum, Akuntansi, Sastra, Psikologi, Ilmu Komputer, Sistem Informasi, dan lain-lain.
- Untuk program studi Pendidikan Dokter tidak memiliki program paralel.

3. VOKASI
- Program Vokasi merupakan program yang gelarnya bukan S1, melainkan D3.
- Lama waktu perkuliahannya adalah 3 tahun.
- Gelar akademis program vokasi adalah A.Md (Ahli Madya).
- Program vokasi di UI telah memiliki fakultas sendiri.
- Tujuan dibentuknya program vokasi adalah menyiapkan mahasiswa menjadi anggota masyarakat yang memiliki kemampuan tenaga ahli profesional dalam menerapkan, mengembangkan dan menyebarluaskan teknologi dan/atau kesenian serta mengupayakan penggunaannya untuk meningkatkan taraf kehidupan masyarakat dan memperkaya kebudayaan nasional.
- Program Vokasi telah disusun untuk lebih mengutamakan beban mata kuliah ketrampilan (60%) dibandingkan dengan beban mata kuliah teori. Jalur masuknya lewat SIMAK UI dan PPKB Vokasi.
4. S1 KELAS INTERNASIONAL
- Kelas Internasional adalah program sarjana di Universitas Indonesia yang menggunakan bahasa pengantar pembelajaran bahasa inggris. Kegiatan pembelajarannya tentu berbeda kelasnya dengan program sarjana reguler dan paralel.
- Di UI kelas internasional dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu single degree dan double degree.Maksud single degree (gelar tunggal) adalah mahasiswanya akan mendapatkan satu gelar dari UI saja. Sedangkan maksud double degree (gelar ganda) adalah mahasiswanya akan mendapat gelar ganda dari UI dan mitra UI. UI telah menjalin kerja sama dengan sejumlah universitas ternama di Australia dan Eropa untuk menjadi mitra UI.
- Jalur masuknya bisa melalui SIMAK KKI dan Talent Scouting. Ujian tulis SIMAK KKI menggunakan bahasa inggris dan memiliki persyaratan nilai TOEFL diatas 500.
5. S1 EKSTENSI
- Program Ekstensi adalah program pendidikan sarjana yang menerima lulusan D3 dari berbagai perguruan tinggi yang telah terakreditasi BAN-PT.
- Biasanya kelasnya dilaksanakan sore sampai malam hari. Khusus hari sabtu dilaksanakan pada pagi hari.
- Jalur masuk S1 Ekstensi melalui SIMAK-Ekstensi.
- Fakultas dan Program Studi yang membuka program ekstensi antara lain: Kesehatan Masyarakat, Ilmu Keperawatan, Ilmu Manajemen, Ilmu Akuntansi, Ilmu Administrasi Negara, Ilmu Administrasi Niaga, Ilmu Administrasi Fiskal, Fakultas Teknik, dan Sistem Informasi.
