Etika Berkendara di Jalan Raya Versi Polisi
Jakarta – Dalam berkendara khususnya menggunakan sepeda motor, sangat diperlukan etika dan adab sopan santun di jalanan.
Terlebih, saat ini banyak kita lihat pengendara sepeda motor yang dengan seenaknya saja saling serobot, memotong jalur tanpa mengindahkan kendaraan di belakangnya sehingga membahayakan pengendara lain.
Nah, pihak kepolisian pun memberi beberapa tips berkendara terkait etika di jalan ini. Tujuan etika berkendara menurut mereka adalah untuk menghormati, menghargai dan menjaga keselamatan diri sendiri dan orang lain.
Saat ini, kebanyakan pemakai jalan jarang yang punya motto ‘sedia payung sebelum hujan’, biasanya kehujanan dulu baru pakai payung. Nah, demikian pula dengan pengendara sepeda motor yang belum beretika, kalau belum kejadian belum akan jera.
Siapapun pasti tidak akan pernah mengharapkan celaka. Solusinya, tentu saja harus dimulai dari diri kita sendiri. Kita tidak pernah tahu dan tidak pernah mau celaka, tetapi kalau bisa dicegah kenapa tidak?
Pihak kepolisian tidak henti-henti mengingatkan bahwa disiplin berlalu lintas bukan hanya milik petugas kepolisian semata, namun juga milik kita semua agar selamat sampai di tujuan.
Nah, berikut adalah beberapa tips yang diberikan Divisi Humas Polri di akun Facebook. Tips ini bertujuan untuk meminimalkan kejadian yang tidak menyenangkan saat berkendara, seperti kecelakaan atau mencelakakan orang lain:
1. Pastikan kondisi fisik dan jiwa yang sehat, lakukan pemanasan sedikit sebelum berangkat ke tujuan.
2. Pastikan sepeda motor yang akan digunakan benar-benar siap selama dalam perjalanan, mulai dari kesiapan kondisi mesin kendaraan, ban, rem, kopling, oli, handle gas, lampu depan, lampu rem, sign, rantai, busi, bahan bakar dan surat-surat (SIM dan STNK).
3. Gunakanlah helm full face atau helm standar (SNI) baik bagi pengemudi maupun pembonceng. Pakailah kacamata dengan UV (Ultra Violet) protection di siang hari agar tidak silau dan pandangan mata lebih jelas.
4. Menyangkut kemungkinan perubahan cuaca, pengendara sepeda motor harus mempersiapkan jaket, sepatu, body protector, sarung tangan, kacamata dan jas hujan.
5. Bagi pembonceng wanita, sebaiknya tidak duduk menyamping melainkan menghadap ke depan.
6. Untuk menyeberang, pastikan lalu lintas aman, barulah menyeberang.
7. Untuk perjalanan di kota, kecepatan tidak boleh lebih dari 60 km/jam, jangan berjalan dengan zig-zag, apalagi jika memboncengkan balita atau orang tua.
8. Jangan membawa muatan yang melebihi ketentuan (lebih dari 2 orang).
9. Patuhilah rambu-rambu lalu lintas sepanjang rute perjalanan dan etika berlalu lintas.
10. Tidak mengambil jalur khusus pejalan kaki / sepeda, apalagi sampai menaiki trotoar untuk pejalan kaki sangat tidak beretika.
11. Nyalakan lampu utama pada siang hari dan gunakan lajur jalan paling kiri saat kecepatan bibawah 40 Km/jam.
12. Tidak menggunakan varias / aksesoris sepedamotor yang membahayakan pengguna jalan lainnya & JANGAN menggunakan kenalpot racing / modifikasi dijalan raya, karena dapat mengganggu kenyamanan orang lain.
13. Hal yang tak kalah penting adalah berdoa memohon keselamatan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa sebelum mengawali perjalanan.
