SekolahNews – Setiap tanggal 12 Oktober diperingati sebagai hari Museum Nasional. Tanggal tersebut ditetapkan karena menjadi salah satu momen penting bagi sejarah permuseuman di Indonesia, yaitu ketika terselenggaranya Musyawarah Museum se-Indonesia pertama pada 1962 di Yogyakarta.
Saat ini ada sekitar 439 museum di Indonesia. Di Jakarta sendiri ada lebih dari 70 buah museum yang terletak di berbagai penjuru wilayah. Berbagai budaya dan kearifan masa lalu bisa kita temukan di sana. Disamping itu museum merupakan tempat melestarikan kebudayaan dan edukasi sekaligus sebagai ruang rekreasi yang menyenangkan (edutaimen).
Peringatan Hari Museum Indonesia 2019 mengambil tema “Museum Menyatukan Keberagaman” dengan tagline ‘Nyok kite ke Museum’.
Puncak peringatah Hari Museum Indonesia akan digelar di Jakarta, tepatnya di Taman Fatahillah, Kota Tua pada 7 sampai dengan 13 Oktober 2019. Kegiatan ini terlaksana berkat kerjasama antara Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud) melalui Direktorat Pelestarian Cagar Budaya dan Permuseuman (PCBM) dengan Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta.
